Livingstone Rhone Report 3,5 Sterne: dark, enclosed robe; the bouquet carries a refined sweetness delivered with discretion, an air of black berry jelly at its centre. It invites well, has depth, shows a little oak. The palate is well juiced, good and upfront on that level, with a swish run of black fruits into a clear finale, with a little sizzle from the crisp tannins. It carries Southern tones, black olive notes, for example, with the dark fruit of the Syrah stamping it. The finish is rounded, with some oak caramel there; it’s still a bit in the cellar, and all it requires is another nine months or so to arrange the finish and to expand out more. 14.5°. 13,330 b. 80% Syr, 20% Gren. €14 at cellars. From mid-2021. 2027-28 Aug 2020
